Chenille is a type of fabric that can trace its beginnings to the 1800s but only gained widespread popularity in the 20th century. The word ‘chenille’ is actually French for ‘caterpillar’ and refers not to the materials that go into the making of the product but to the actual process. It is used in very many products such as furniture, linens and clothing.
