Almost everyone who watches television and movies have heard of this frequently quoted line, especially in scenes involving the arrest of a criminal offender by police authorities. In truth, the line is as applicable to police arrests as to blogging, particularly in the legal issue of defamation.
Defamation is an issuance of false statements against another causing harm or injury. There are two kinds of defamation, slander and libel. Slander is done orally or spoken in front of many people, while libel is considered when the act of defamation is done in written form and which is exposed or published to the public.
